| The Igloo down light cover is easy to install. A simple few steps and the down light cover snaps into place. | The transformer has a neat little slot that it clips into and is lifted above the insulation. The Igloo has small vents at the top to let any heat build up escape. |
Once the Igloo down light cover is in place and the transformer clipped into its slot, the insulation can be pulled back around. This down light is now completely safe. |

Installing downlight covers and retro fitting. The federal Governments home insulation program has closed due to house fires and electrocutions. On 2nd November, 2009 the Government announced mandatory fitting of downlights covers on all halogen downlights. Downlights are the main point of concern, as uncovered downlights are the main reason why the home insulation program has been cancelled. Over 130 house fires have been caused by halogen Downlights being covered by incorrect laying of insulation. If you have had insulation installed prior to 2nd November, 2009 your house may be in danger of catching fire. The building codes of Australia has as of the 1/3/2010 released new laws regarding roof space left uninsulated after a poorly installed job. The new law requires no more than 5% of ceiling may be left uncovered. This means that if you have more than 10 uncovered downlights the insulation is rendered useless. Mark Group of Australia are qualified Insulation installers and Inspectors. Please contact them to arrange and inspection of your downlights and for a quote to install the Igloo Downlight covers. |
